The East Hill Start
Many FLCC rides as well as the (unaffiliated) Tuesday Night Races start on East Hill in the parking lot between the HSBC bank and the drug store
If you're coming from the northeast (from Dryden) you'll be on NY 13. When you get to the big NYSEG building and a traffic light, take the left on NY 366. Follow this through the dip at Varna, past the Cornell vet school and parking areas on the right and the orchards on the left to a stop in another dip. That should be Pine Tree Rd. Take a left and look for the little plaza on your right. The meeting area is just before you get to the HSBC bank and the traffic light.
If you're coming from the east-southeast on NY 79, you'll see signs pointing to Cornell just before the flashing light at Pine Tree Rd. Take that up the hill until the next traffic light. Take the next driveway left after the light, right next to the HSBC bank.
From any other direction, you'll wind up in downtown Ithaca. Follow signs for NY 79 east. After a few blocks going up hill headed out of downtown, take the left to follow NY 366. That's Mitchell St. When 366 takes a left, don't follow it but go straight (the curb is awkwardly laid out, but wiggle around it and keep going up Mitchell St.). It will come to a traffic light. The start area is just to the left. You can take the driveway just before the light and go into the HSBC bank's parking lot or go left at the light and take the next driveway on your left. |
