Future Tours

Summer will be here any day, and we have to make plans now for the FLCC's greatest touring season ever. The first trip is already set for next week when about a dozen of us head for the Green Mountains. Now we are soliciting interested people for the next touring events of the year.

In early spring a group of folks met to discuss the many possibilities for non-racing, leisurely, bike touring. We had no shortage of great ideas, of course; and we even had no shortage of volunteers to begin the planning. But now we need to hear from more of you who would want to participate. What has been sketched out is the bare bones of a few trips. In order to carry the plans further we need to hear from you what you would like to make of these trips. So, get in touch with Ami Kadar who is coordinating this effort.

What we have in the works are trips for the July 4 and Labor Day weekends and possibly another weekend for a tour in the Sodus area.

The Sodus trip is relatively local, a bike tour with two or three overnights on the road. We have some information about especially interesting routes and would like to flesh out this trip.

The other two trips involve driving to a destination — Vermont for the July 4th trip and Maine for Labor Day. In both cases, there are hostels that can be rented rather inexpensively for a group and that would provide us a base for extensive cycling and hiking in really beauriful surroundings.
