NYS Time Trial, June 13 —Volunteers Needed— The FLCC is sponsoring the New York State Time Trial on Saturday, June 13. Glenn Swan is organizing the event and I’m helping to find volunteers. We still need volunteers to help with the start and finish lines, to marshal corners, and to help with the parking. Volunteers do not need prior experience helping with races. If you can help, please e-mail me at davidr@orie.cornell.edu or phone 255-9136 (day) or 273-7064 (evenings). The time trial starts at the park on West Creek Road, a bit north of Speeds-ville. From Ithaca one can take Route 79 east to West Creek Road and then turn right on West Creek Road. The park is on the right. The racers start at 11:30 am and the race should be over around 3:00 pm. Those helping with parking will need to arrive around 9:00 am. Corner marshals and those helping at the start and finish lines should show up around 11:00 am. There are also pre-race activities, such as making signs with directions, marking the road, and sweeping corners. If you are not available on June 13 or will be in the race, but you would still like to help, there is plenty that you could do. Please contact me. A list of tasks to do and people that have already volunteered is available at: http://www.orie.cornell.edu/davidr/ cycling/volunteers —David Ruppert, FLCC Secretary |
