CU Planner Invites Bicyclists’ Road-Design Ideas The following message was received by Dave Nutter, local bicycle activist, in response to a note Nutter posted to an Ithaca-area e-mail listserv. "Thanks for the summary of local bicycle-facility history. I am a civil engineer with Planning Design and Construction at Cornell, and am involved in the design of many of the street and parking projects on campus. Although I’ve been here for 10 years, I’ve not payed as much attention to things as I should have. Your information is helpful. "We are currently developing schematic designs for Campus Road from Caldwell Road to Tower (along B-parking lot), Campus Road between Judd Falls and the athletics building, and Central Avenue from the Collegetown bridge to Campus Road. We are also developing schematic designs for B-lot. "I…would like to extend the invitation [to give me feedback] to anyone interested in bicycle issues. …I would be interested to hear comments about our previous projects as well as future designs. "Thanks." Anyone with ideas or comments about Cornell’s bicycle facilities (or lack thereof ) may contact Bob at: «RHC3@cornell.edu».
