Recycle those Bikes! Recycle Ithaca’s Bicycles (RIBs), a program of the nonprofit Southside Community Center, rewards participants with working, safe bicycles; helmets; parts; accessories; and assisted repairs in exchange for hours work or other participation in this cooperative program. Since its inception in 1990, RIBs has put over 1,750 donated bicycles back into use, has distributed hundreds of helmets, and has assisted with thousands of repairs. The program relies heavily on tax-deductible donations of bicycles, frames, parts, and accessories.
