Spring is late but it has come and there is lots of FLCC riding going on. Today, we held our annual club race, the Virgil Spring Classic, at Greek Peak. 118 riders registered with strong fields in all categories and the citizens race. It was a beautiful day, if a bit nippy and windy.

 It was great to see a few FLCC members doing their first race. You can read about the results elsewhere in the newsletter, but a big thank you goes to VP for Racing Don Andersen for a fine race and to Mike Dolenga for all his assistance. Each year this race provides the club a profit to offset other club expenses and Don and Mike did a great job assisted by a whole bunch of other race day volunteers.

 Our biggest thanks once again goes to the Hollenbecks for allowing us to use the Cider Mill as a staging area for the race and supplying great cookies. When you need cider or other NYS goodies make sure to head to Virgil and Hollenbeck’s Cider Mill.

 The Sunday tours have been as well attended as they ever have been, with more than 20 riders out each week. There are groups of all abilities riding. VP for Touring Phil Davis has done a fine job organizing these and doing up maps of each ride. Make sure you thank Phil for doing one of the more time consuming jobs in the club.

 The new FLCC jerseys arrived and most have been distributed. They are getting raves from all. They sure look good. Thanks to Don Andersen for the design and the leg work on getting them ordered. If you ordered a jersey and haven’t picked it up, give me a call. If you haven’t paid your balance due, send it to me before we sic the "jersey police" on you. We may be getting our hands on a few more. We have plenty of XL’s (European size which is closer to an American L). We might have a very limited number of other sizes. Call or email me if you are interested. The jerseys are $52.25.
