Join us for a 6 day ride through the best that the Adirondacks have to offer. The trip begins in Speculator and continues clockwise around the high peaks, riding through Blue Mountain Lake, Long Lake, Tupper Lake and Lake Placid. We’ll drop through Keene Valley (and the Noonmark Diner) into the Lake Champlain valley, riding through Ticonderoga and along Lake George before heading back to Speculator.
Daily mileage will be between 50 and 55 miles, giving everyone a chance to ride at their own pace and sightsee. While there are plenty of hilly roads in the Adirondacks which require a modest level of fitness, the climbs are not exceptionally difficult. Most of the roads are low-traffic with ample shoulder room.
Most of the overnights will be at state campgrounds with clean water and hot showers. You will need a good freestanding tent with a ground cloth, a sleeping bag rated appropriately for the season, and a sleeping pad. Meals are at the discretion of each rider, with some folks cooking at the campsites and others eating at restaurants and cafes.
The ride requires a degree of mechanical self-sufficiency. You should have the tools and skills necessary to change flats and perform minor mechanical adjustments.
